Subject:Silly question...
Time:10:44 am
So, I have been managing and supervising for 5 years and I'm kind of tired of it. Mostly, I'd love to have a job where I can get tips, because I am incredibly friendly and outgoing and know I will do well. And I'm tired of corporate bullshit.
I seriously don't want the responsibility of glorified babysitting teenagers anymore. I'm in school and I'd rather take home money in my pocket every day.
Have any of you been a waitress? Does is pay enough for me to live and eat and survive on just the one job?
Any suggestions for good places in Buffalo?

Yes. Tips depend on the location and it seems the locations where you think you earn decent tips you don't. I found I earn the best money when I work under the table. I feel bad saying that but I have made pretty good 'pocket money' working two nights a week scooping ice cream versus waiting tables. I honestly don't know how most people who waitress live off just their tips and this is coming from someone who has very good customer skills. I am the kind of person that will remember how you like your coffee a whole year later and only served them a couple times.

I have no suggestions regarding good places to work in Buffalo. All I wanted to say is I can sympathize how exhausting and annoying it can feel to manage and supervise. It really does feel like you are a glorified babysitter. -_-" Cheers to staying in school! At least there is potential to get a career.

Ahh, well the only times I've worked under the table I am often not payed on time or 'forgotten'. I am also nervous because I receive financial aid and need a trail of taxes for them to follow.
But good advice! Thank you.

I would suggest banquet waitressing, especially at a country club. This is the exact time they would be hiring. You will have to work weekends but you are guaranteed your tips as they're written on the bill for the patron. You don't handle any cash, as the members have accounts. You have a high class clientele. You will do weddings and other banquets where the menu is set. You bring the people chicken, fish, or beef. Every one gets the same sides. You just bring out the food, fill the water glasses, serve the cake, coffee, tea. They get their own beverages from the bar. Also a guaranteed tip.

Do you have any recommendations for places in the area that hire for this?
